MPFL wouldn't exist without funding. We are very welcome any support to equip our laboratory. Following facilities are our interest in the near future. These tools allow us to delve even deeper into the patterns and characteristics of the multiphase flows and explore how they interact with their environment on macro and small scales.
LSP-500 Ultrasonic Processor
Typical applications of ultrasonic homogenizers include sample preparation, disintegrating and cell lysis, homogenizing, dispersing and disaggregation, particle size reduction and the acceleration of chemical reactions (sonochemistry). The LSP-500 laboratory ultrasonic liquid processor is designed for small scale process testing and optimization. It outputs up to 500 W of acoustic power into the processed liquids and operates at the frequency of approximately 20 kHz.
DCAT 25
The dynamic contact angle measuring instrument and tensiometer DCAT 25 is the multifunctional instrument for the weight-based measurement of contact angle, surface and interfacial tension, critical micelle formation concentration, density, sedimentation, penetration, adhesive force and surface pressure.
Slowmotion Camera (FPS1000 Platinum)
One focus of research in our lab is observation and studying of very quick dynamics of the irregular interface in the multiphase flows. In order to see what happens in the interfacial region, we need to use a high speed video camera. This high frame rate camera takes over 10,000 frames per second to produce amazing slow motion video. With high speed video we are able to quantify fast multiphase flow patterns.
Water tunnel
